New York, Brooklyn, Boston, Philadelphia and Chicago - then Berlin Pankow. After apprenticeships and internships with "C.A.F. Geissler & Sohn" and "Siemens & Halske", Reinhold Burger continued his education in the United States. On returning to Europe he became one of the most innovative minds of his time. His first - and arguably his most significant - invention was the thermos flask. He moreover held patents for a testing system for sparking plugs and for a sports game. Another important invention was an irradiation system with cold red light. It was being used in Berlin's "Charité" hospital and the world over. Together with aides of Conrad Röntgen he developed the first fully functioning x-ray tube and the appendant technologies like a high frequency system. He thus became - and later prouded himself with - being the world's first x-ray producing company. He received multiple awards for his scientific achievements and inventions. Most significantly, he received gold and silver medals during various world exhibitions.
